June Guest Designer - Karin Åkesdotter Day 2

Hello and Happy Tuesday!  I'm back with more fabulous designs from Karin!  The first two cards today feature images from our new Let's Be Mermaids stamp set.  The set includes two fish and two seahorses - which Karin paired perfectly in these cards.  Today's post is all about twos!  

In this first design, Karin shows her amazing watercoloring skills.  She used a subtle blue to make the perfect water background for the mermaid and fish.        

Two seahorses make the perfect heart shaped shaker card with colorful sequins! 

Karin's next card features our new Narly Birthday stamp set.  Karin stamped and die cut two of the narwhal image to make a pair that works perfectly with the sentiment.  So fun and I love the watery background!

June Guest Designer - Ceal Pritchett

Today I am pleased to introduce you to our 2nd Guest Designer for the month of June - Ceal Pritchett!

This first Clean and Simple card from Ceal uses fun stamps from our new Hey Gull Friend stamp set. 

Ceal used our scallop bermuda cardstock as water, die cut the gulls, and mounted them with 3D foam adhesive so they pop against the crisp white sugar cardstock!

June Guest Designer - Karin Åkesdotter

Happy June! This month, our Design Team Coordinator, Emily Montenaro, will be sharing the work of our next two Guest Designers.  I hope you enjoy their projects! 

Thanks Linda! I am excited to share our Guest Designers for June!  Our first Guest Designer is Karin Åkesdotter and I know you will love her work.

Here are a few words from Karin:

"My name is Karin Åkesdotter and I’m from Gothenburg, Sweden where I live with my husband and our 8-year-old son. I have been doing arts and crafts, sewing, drawing, water color painting, paper crafting etc. for as long as I can remember and also chose that path for my career. I studied arts and crafts with a focus on textiles for 5 years at Gothenburg University and now teach textile crafts and language full time to 7-9 graders. I LOVE my students and my job but of course I always wish I had more time for paper crafting and painting (-: 

When I’m not working I enjoy spending time with my family, travelling, watercolor painting, reading, exercising (orienteering, floorball, indoor walking, etc) and being outdoors.

This month our Guest Designers will be featuring our new June products along with a few existing favorites. This first card by Karin uses stamps from the new Let's Be Mermaids set.  Karin created a gorgeous colorful shell border on this card using one of my favorite techniques - masking!  If you look closely, you'll also see that she trimmed along the bottom scallop edges of the shells creating a beautiful border effect.
