May Guest Designer - Melissa Roell

Happy first of May! I'm excited to be sharing the work of TWO Guest Designers this month! Our first Guest Designer has been a long-time fan of A Muse Studio - Melissa Roell. I first met Melissa when she and a couple of friends flew across the country to visit our little shop in the Greenwood area of Seattle. Melissa is a wonderful designer and I know you're going to love her projects.

Here's a few words from Melissa:

"Hi! I'm Melissa Roell. I started stamping in 1998 with a group of friends at work. I was not sure if it was for me but then the first time I stamped and image and embossed it with a heat too I was hooked. I have been enjoying paper crafting ever since!

My husband and I have relocated a dozen times over the last 30 years. We have moved all over the country and a couple of times out of the country. We are currently spending a lot of time in Brazil. It has been a wonderful experience for us.

This month, we asked our Guest Designers to showcase our newest products and a few older favorites. This first card by Melissa is using stamps from the new Time To Party set. She used one of our new Stitched Circle Window dies on the front of the card and then stamped Happy Birthday in the "window". I love how Melissa stacked the Happy and Birthday. This is a single line stamp so she inked and stamped each word separately. It's a handy trick and a stamp positioner is your best friend when doing this technique.

Melissa used the Time To Party matching die set for easy cutting of the cake and flower stamps.

Add some simple coloring and a bit of onyx baker's twine and voila!
