Was playing around with our Maple Tags earlier today and made a delightful discovery... you can heat emboss on them! Check it out.
I stamped a different snowflake on each one (from our Snowflakes stamp set) using Versamark Ink. I then added white embossing powder and fired up my heat tool. It took about three times as long to melt the powder as normal and I was worried that it wasn't going to work but then I saw it start to change. Woohoo!
I added a gold embossed rim around each tag and they kinda feel like funny money. <smile> To emboss the rim, I simply rolled the edge of the coin in Versamark ink, added some gold embossing powder and carefully heated the powder until it melted. Melting the powder on the rims was surprisingly quick. You have to be careful to not to burn your fingers on this step!
I'm not sure if I'm going to use these as tree ornaments or as a gift wrapping embellishment. They were super fun to make so I'm planning to make more with my girls tonight. I used the 1.5" tags on the ones pictured above... I think we'll try some 2" tags tonight as well. So fun!
I love your snowflake tags!
