Yes, please! This is one of my favorite coloring techniques at the moment. It's fun and easy. With 30 Splash! ink colors to choose from and the possibility of mixing colors gives you an unlimited palette. Awesome, right?
Here's a couple of tips.
1) I use a Niji Water Brush (small) to color with Splash!
2) Add a few drops of Splash! inks to a clear block. You'll use the water brush to pick up the color from the clear block. This is also a great spot for mixing colors.
3) Be sure to stamp your image with Archival Ink or heat emboss so there's no bleeding
4) You can add a teeny bit of water (from your water brush) to soften the colors.
5) You can layer colors to make them darker. Allow the ink to dry first before adding another layer.
4) Relax... and enjoy. No seriously... you don't want to approach this with a perfectionist attitude. <wink!>
For this first card, I wanted soft colors so I used Blush & Lemon Whip. I love how soft and pretty she looks. I stamped the angel in VersaMark ink and embossed her in gold.
Here's a closer look.
For this next card, I was inspired by the beautiful fall leaves that are still falling here in North Carolina. I also stamped and embossed this image in gold and then used Poppy, Marigold and Papaya to color the leaves.
Here's a closer look:
I love it! Tell me... have you tried watercolor with your Splash! inks yet? What do you think?
Love them both - I have the leaves but you are making me want/NEED another set from the Holiday Catalog!
