A Muse Studio Splash! has got to be one of the most versatile products! Last week, I shared a few cards where I used Splash! inks for watercoloring. Today, I have a card for you with a Splash! watercolored background. This is a FUN technique and I know you are going to love it!
For this card, I used a piece of A Muse Studio's smooth watercolor cardstock. This stuff is great. You can use it as a card base if you'd like but I usually cut it down to be the size of a card front when I am experimenting as this saves on paper.
I first stamped the A Muse Studio Snowy Day background stamp in Versamark ink and embossed with white. I then lightly misted the cardstock with water (3-4 sprays is all you need). Misting the cardstock allows the color to flow more easily and makes the colors appear less blotchy/uneven. Use a watercolor brush to apply Splash! ink for your background. I used 'Azul' for this winter blue background.
The fun thing about watercoloring with Splash! is that you can add layers of color to enhance or darken areas. You can also mix colors for some beautiful effects.
You know me... I like to keep it simple so I stamped and colored the cute penguin from the Not A Creature Was Stirring stamp set and popped him up on the card.
I hope you've been experimenting with your Splash! inks! If not, what are you waiting for?
Oh my gosh - love it!!
