I know, I know! You think it's too early to start thinking about Valentine's Day but I hope you will reconsider.
Today I want to share with you some sweet little candy boxes that I made last night. I was rearranging stamp sets in my craft room because our 2013 Holiday Catalog expires on 12/31 and when I saw the On Dasher stamp set, was inspired to make these little boxes. I love the sentiments in this set, and Dasher, of course! If you recall... I shared some fun little holiday gift tags I made using all of the images in this stamp set.
To start, I cut Candy Boxes (using our Candy Box die set) from Grapefruit and Shell cardstock - a pretty color combo. I then stamped the word LOVE three times on one of the large box panels in VersaMark ink and embossed in white.
I am frequently asked how I assemble boxes so "perfectly". I'm glad they appear that way. Here's a quick step-by-step photo tutorial that I hope you will like.
STEP 1: Fold the boxes. As many of you know, A Muse Studio cardstock is duplex which simply means that it is color on one side and white on the other. When making boxes and other 3D items, you can sometimes get cracked edges which is not so pretty. To minimize this, simply fold the cardstock in the opposite direction first (color to color) and then fold in the right direction.
STEP 2: Add the adhesive. Nobody wants their boxes to fall apart. Our Super Stick Red tape is the best I've ever used. Make your corners crisp by aligning the adhesive right along the edge of the score line.
STEP 3: Assemble the box. Almost all of our box dies (except the berry box) will fold flat making it easy to align the edges perfectly every time. This also makes them easy to transport if you need to make a bunch in advance of something like a wedding or a trip.
That's all there is to it!
And a closer look...
See... it's not too early to start thinking about Valentine's Day.

I do think it's early to think about Valentine's Day, but these are SO cute! I will have to remember this when the time comes. Thanks!
