I love Valentine's Day. I loved making fun valentines with my daughters when they were in elementary school and even though they are too old for that now, I still like giving them fun gifts and sweet treats on Valentine's Day.
MY BUTTER HALF
This card is for my youngest daughter. She has always LOVED butter. When she was about three she used to stick her fingers in the butter dish for a tasty treat. (yuck!) When she was six, she made up a recipe for "A Muse Cake" and the first ingredient was... SIX cups of BUTTER!
This punny valentine is perfect for her!
ONE OF A KIND VALENTINE
My middle daughter used to love unicorns... although she'd be loathe to admit that now. This sweet card is for her.
This card really sparkles but it's hard to see in the photo. I used my Wink of Stella clear glitter pen to highlight the clouds and the word Valentine.
I used a fun watercolor technique on this card using our new Grapefruit dye ink. You will want to use a waterproof ink like Ranger's Archival Black when using this technique. Simply tap your clear block onto one of our dye ink pads, dip your paintbrush into a bit of water and then pick up the color with your brush. You can create fun backgrounds this way and it's also a fun way to color your stamped images. You'll want to use watercolor paper with this technique.
